Common User Profile Support

GkSetup Professional-Edition contains support for the "Common User Profile" in Windows NT and Windows 2000. Using the following page in the Project Options you can specify if your application should be installed only for the user who is currently logged on or for all users on this machine.

Installing applications for all users requires administrative privileges. Asking the user if the application should be installed for all users will therefore only work if the user who is currently logged on is a member of the Administrators Group.

On Operating Systems that do not support multiple/common user profiles, these settings have no effect. The application can be installed without problems on these operating systems as long as they are marked as valid destination platform in Step 1.

Operating Systems that support multiple User Profiles:
- Windows NT
- Windows 2000
- Windows XP
- Windows Server 2003

Operating Systems that do not support multiple User Profiles:
- Windows 95 / Windows 95 OSR2
- Windows 98 / Windows 98 SE
- Windows ME

There are also 4 variables that contain a path for the common user profile or for the user profile.
